Misfire code on '00 1500 w/ 5.3 - Questions

'00 1500 w/ 5.3l has a misfire code. Tried replacing plugs & wires, but that didn't help. Code comes back after being cleared.

 

What should I check next?

 

On other cars I have had it has been the ignition control module with these same symptoms. Think that is it, or maybe something else?

 

Any help is appreciated.

What code exactly?

Not sure. It is my sister's truck & when she took it in they said it was a misfire code & it had misfired like 9000 times. She did not get the exact code number.

Could be a number of things, like a coil, ICM, PCM, etc. You should get the exect code.

I had a misfire code as well (Misfire 3,5,7) It was water in the fuel. I used 2 bottles of water out, 2k later, no codes since.
