An interesting picture I took

I was out exploring some of the backroads by us this weekend, and found this old guy. From the looks of it, it is still being used fairly regularly. It has an amazingly little amount of rust for its age, and being up in the Northern Rockies.

I'm not sure of the model or year, but I thought someone here would know, and I thought you guys might enjoy the picture.

I'm thinkin' it's maybe a '52, possibly a 2 ton

No newer than a 52 because they went to a one piece windsheild in 53. Tere is not much difference between 50 thru 52 models otherwise but I tend to think it is a 52 as well.

Nice truck to restore. I believe it is a 1 ton model though based on dump bed size. Years ago in the 70's when I worked in construction driving C60 and C70 dump trucks while going to college I knew this old man that was retired did some contract hauling sometimes for extra money and he had a 59 2 ton chevy dump truck with a 2 speed axle and a 235 and he could haul 8 tons with it. It was a nice quiet stock truck that was cherry. He offer the truck to me for 800 bucks back then and I wish I had bought it and keep it all these years as it was the nicest old truck of its type I have every seen then or since.
