troubleshooting a tranny 99 Tahoe

Sometimes......not all the time when my transmission on my '99 Tahoe 5.7 shifts from first to second and then to third the tranny slams into gear. May go for miles without doing it, or it may do it after a few, but when it does it, its like it has a shift kit installed. Will servicing the tranny help or am I in the market for a new one??

You need to have it scanned for codes. Sounds like it is going to full line pressure. Some codes can cause that.

Not all codes cause the SES light to come on. Some have to occur two times and others will never turn the light on.
