water pump? Already?!?!

hey gang, took my '04 2500HD with 41,000 miles in for an oil change and tire rotation, and the techs found that my water pump was going bad (creating the coolant smell I detected) and my right rear axle seal was bad as well. Thank God I bought the extended warranty. Is it just me, or does it seem relatively early in the life of the truck for these issues?

 

And to add insult to injury, they had Enterprise give me a Dodge Neon for a rental!

I had a front axle seal go out on my '04 at about 20K. As to your "loaner", I had my truck in about a month ago for the final check before the warranty was up and they put me in an '06 crew cab with 40 miles on it from Enterprise. It looks like I lucked out on that one
