Anyone know when the trailblazers are scheduled for a redesign? Any pics out there yet?

Thanks!

The next-generation TrailBlazer was to be built on an upgraded version of the current GMT360 platform called the GMT361. It was scheduled to be launched in Spring 2007, but in January 2006 GM decided to just refresh the current platform and call the vehicle a GMT360ng. In June 2006 GM announced that the GMT360ng program was also cancelled due to the large investment. The current Trailblazer/Envoy is slated to continue with only minor changes until at least the 2010MY.

That's from Wikipedia, and seems to jive with what others are saying.

Cool thanks! I thought I had heard 07 but nothing has been showing up makes sense now

Rumor is that it will be replaced with a Lamda-platform vehicle. It'll be a large unibody with IRS and 3-ros of seats. I think Saturn was already scheduled for a version, they're now modifying the sheetmetal and making a Chevy/GMC version as well.

Found this on GMI the other day thought it might add a little to this thread

From that thread: DETROIT -- General Motors Corp. may dump the Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUV and build a smaller Hummer as rising fuel prices push buyers to more fuel-efficient models.

Yeah...Because the name of "HUMMER" has always been associated with savings and fuel efficiency.

Thats exaclty what i said. As much as i dislike the trailblazer i would really hate to see it turn into another hummer.

I hope not, I am already planning a 2010 Trailblazer EXT LT to replace my 2003.

I am not buying a hummer H3 or 4 or 5 or whatever.

Put a 6 speed auto with the DED in the TB and you'll get over 20MPG. I'll take that, since I get around 13 with mixed driving, now.

I was under the impression that 06 was the last year for the EXT...

Seeing as how they made them at the plant that's about 2 miles from my house...And it's all but shut down now, I'd have to agree.

Yep,No more EXT's.

GM's reason was that an EXT loaded out was priced very close to a loaded out Tahoe, and most people just went with the Tahoe instead of an EXT Trailblazer.

Thats what we saw at the dealership,People would come in and look at an EXT because they needed the third row seat,Then they saw how much an EXT was loaded out (Most stickered for over $40 grand with the V8 and leather) and just decided to go with a Tahoe instead.

Trailblazer, Envoy, Rainer and Sabb 360 are all done as far as the future goes last I heard. The EXT models have already been discontinued. All the EXT models are being replaced by the CUV's. GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook, Buick Enclave and Chevy is due for one in a few years. I don't know what Sabb is getting but they are supposed to get their own SUV. Also, GMC is going to take over the Pontiac torrent at some point.

So GMC and Chevy will have the small SUV in the Equinox/Torrent the Mid-Size with three rows of seats in the Acadia/??? and then of course the Yukon/Tahoe/Suburban. I would also expcet the Acadia and Acadia Denali to be priced below the Yukon.

I don't think the article ment that they were actually thinking that people that had Trailblazers would go to the H4, I believe what they ment was that the assembly plant would quit making Tblazers and make the H4 instead. Folks that wanted a vehicle simmalar to a trailblazer would have to buy something else. Besides, the H3 will get MORE POWER for 08. :)

Nope. The plant that made the EXT's is closed. I know this because I drive by it on the way to work every day.

Shame about that brand new Billion-dollar paint facility :)
