michael4589 Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Hey, I have a 05' extended cab sierra, and I was wondering if its a Double Din opening or what? I go to some websites and says they are, but when you go to websites for custom fitted things, it says the truck is not double din and won't fit... I was looking into the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 which is a Navigation system. Its a bit pricy but I think it may be worth it. Thank you for you help. Mike
mmmikkke Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 It's double din, and I proved that by putting 2 din radios in my truck's double-din space. Check out my "view vehicles", there are a few pics there. When I was trying to buy the Metra kit, though, I ran into a lot of installer dogma that said what I wanted to do couldn't be done. (It was one of those "not invented here" problems.) It was easy to do the install once I got the right kit.
Shaners Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Call the people at crutchfield.com and they'll tell you what will work for you. They say the avic-n3 will work on their website but will require some mods...
michael4589 Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 thanks guys I appreciate it, I like the setup with the cb, thats badass yeah crutchfield is where I checked and said it didn't fit, but I thought it would and it looks like it, but thanks for clearing that up, that helps alot. Mike
harkerr Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 The 04-06 Denali-Escalade Delphi navigation systems can be easily retrofitted into the pickups. Cost about $1200 on e-bay. Must be programmed for "non-lux" radio. Many posts on this conversion elsewhere on this forum. I have had mine for more than a year and love it.
