Denali WOOD trim in a '02 Tahoe?

Hey all,

Thinking about putting some Denali wood trim in my '02 Tahoe -- if it'll "fit."  Will it?  Is it a direct swap-in?

Is the trim an adhesive applique, or is the trim already mounted to replacement pieces?  Specifically, I'm wondering about the dash surround and other dash-mounted pieces (though I may be interested in some other pieces, too).

Is the Denali trim piece around the gauge cluster a different shape than the Tahoe?  (Why do I think that it is squared off as opposed to being rounded?)

Also, can the trim be bought in a kit (all), or do you have to buy it in idividual pieces?

Finally, is this the way to go, or is Escalade or an aftermarket vendor's wood a better way to go?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply!  Now, would you consider this the nicest option in terms of getting some decent-looking wood(ish) trim in the Tahoe -- or, are there other aftermarket companies out there with nicer stuff that I don't know about?

Thanks again for the info, link, and pic!

this place seems to be the best in matching the steering wheel with the dark cherry wood of the Denali kit. It's on my list....

Which place are you referring to, Boomer?

Check out EXotic Wood dash kits. they are a little pricey but they are Real wood and very nice. There web site has a very nice picture of the Burl wood piece that go into the chevy/gmc trucks.  that would be my choice of companies when I decide to buy wood kits.

Hey guys, we're (JP Customs) going to start offering the Denali trim in a complete package. Window switches, dash bezel and Wood/leather steering wheel all matching the Denali wood.

We're going to be carrying a lot of other Wood, Carbon Fiber, colored leather, etc. steering wheels as well. Check the website in about a week.

That's a great idea, Now I guess I'm going to have to wait a little while before I put in my order at Exotic wood. These kits are going to be for the trucks right?? just wondering because the window switches are different from the tahoe's and denali's.

I too would be interested in some info on the window switches.  The way I understand it is the trim for the front passengers door is the same as the Denali's , but the drivers door has window switches for the front and back windows plus a lock out for the rear.  Is this correct?  Do they make a drivers door switch trim for the X-cab trucks.  I also understand you have to buy the complete switch assembly too?

Hey JP -- Thanks for the info!  Looks like I'll have to wait for a week, too!

Now, one thing I'm not clear on about what you're selling here is this: Are the pieces identical to the GM parts?  ARE they GM parts?  Or, are these pieces repros?

Oh, and can anyone tell me more about how the switch panels come off and go on?  I had no problem taking the dash panel off to redo my gauges, but that was much more clear to me.  Do you have to remove the whole door panel or anything like that?

Thanks!
