Installed hood visor last week and dropped 2 mpg this week is this possible? Went from 22 to 20............05 silverado w/t 4.3 5sp

I've never had that problem and I've put hood deflectors on every truck I've owned.

Of course I put them on as soon as I get the truck (Usually before the truck even leaves the lot, since I work at the dealership) so I've never checked the mileage without one.But man two MPG difference just dosen't sound right,I can't see that happening just because of a hood deflector, although I guess it could be possible.

I was always told that sunvisors cut your mileage down, but again,I've put one on every truck I've owned and never saw a difference at all,And I did get chances to check the before and after mileage on that installation and saw no difference.

I'm sure that anytime you change the areodynamics, especially the frontal area, you will have a difference in fuel economy. It might not be enough to notice, but it will change.

When you say 'hood visor', you're talking about the air deflector you installed at the leading edge of the hood right? not a visor you added to the leading edge of your cab roof right?

If he's referring to the visor on top of the cab roof, then it's quite possible that he lost that much MPG. But if it's just a bug guard on the front of the hood, then something else changed.
