my 04 crew cab Z71 killed a 04 ion redline

Was driving around getting parts for the camaro in my 04 crew cab z71 (5817lbs, 295 fwhp/330 fwtq *at SEA LEVEL, we're at 6k feet* 5.3, 4.10's, k&n, w/ two of my buddies and myself raced my buddy's 04 Ion Redline ( CAI, MAF translator, pulley, injectors, exhaust, dyno proven 241 Front whp, 229 Front wtq - when running on all 4 cylinders) w/ 1 passenger :

 

From a 30ish roll - I pulled til he was at my back bumper - could hear his supercharger (removed his silencer so it basically sounds like a farkin cobra)

but wasn't sure if he was gettin on it at all. I'm like - wtf ??? I know his cars pretty fookin quick (seen him beat a 97ish modded cobra)

Got up to a light and was laughin at him....light turns green we both go - his headlights are at my passenger door - hear his supercharger whining, then a slight and quick boom-boom-boom - (like when a cars runnin really rich) and I win

He gets home, find out he was basically running on 3 cylinders (like a metro) as one of his plugs is really fouled out....he fixes it and now his car would RAPE my truck

^^ha, you're funny :cheers: . Actually didn't have a d**n clue as to what they were until my friend bought one. He was gonna get the redline or a srt4. Decided on a redline because they had a better crash test rating (has a 18 month old lil boy that rides in it quite often).

 

I guess the closest I ever came to being a "ricer" was when I owned a 2001 Yamaha R6. I wouldn't consider myself to be a ricer then though, because it was pretty d**n fast.

 

Little background on me, since I neglected to do it in my first post :

 

I'm 23, been married for 2 years to a woman thats too good to me, PROUD daddy of a little 14 month old boy (yes he's my first). I'm AD in the USAF stationed in Wyoming.

I love pretty much everything with an engine. I have an 04 victory red crewcab Z71 thats loaded w/ everything cept a factory dvd player (stock save for a k&n)

Also have an 81 camaro that is metallic grey w/ white ralleye stripes, an L88 hood, cragar rims, 350 tranny (shift kit, small stall), I have a 79 350 .030 over, hypereutectic pistons, moly rings, comp cams high energy street 260H cam, using the stock heads that have been redone at the shop(76cc, 1.94/1.50) until I can get a good set of aftermarkets, and a 50k volt billet distributor I got off ebay for 75 bucks brand new, Edelbrock Air Gap manifold (idle - 5500), holley 600 (vac sec, elec choke), 1 5/8" 80$ special headers.

I'll get pics of my car and maybe my truck up maybe this weekend....

You "owned" a Yamaha R6??

 

It takes a man of a car to out run a motorcycle. I read about people claming to do it often, but Road and Track released an article wiht like 6 of the fastest tuner cars in the world, and a couple of stock super high performance. They compared them to the likes of a motorcycle. I believe the only car capable of even staying close was the Lingenfelter 415cid ZR-1. I needa dig up that article.

Theres a vid on streetfire.net that shows it takes a twin turbo viper with 1200HP to just edge out the fastest stock crotch rocket. I think the bikes raced were CBR-5000s? And this was from a 30-190mph roll.

Yea I've heard about that. Them cycles got CRAZY hp/weight ratio.

Dont think your frind needs to do any racing with a infant onboard. Better crash rating or not.

CBR-5000????? I know you said that you were guessing but c'mon...CBR-5000? That's one hell of a guess!!!! :)
