Towing in mountains-which computer?

So next week i finally get to see how the truck tow in the mountains. I have a westers 87/89 tune and was wondering if i should use it on 87 octane to tow a 4000 lb trailer or through the stock one back in. I have a feeling the magnaflow is going to drive me nuts after a couple hundred miles, lol. Going from flint, mi. to virginia beach, i have never been through the mountains so its all new to me. Too bad the exhast system doesn't have some kind of quick disconnect so i could swap back and forth from stock to the magna flow.

I'd leave the Wester's in. Is your exhaust welded? One reason I bought a bolt on cat-back is so I can remove to bolts, drop the system, and wrestle the factory back on.

My Magnaflow flow cat-back is really loud all the time. It sounds like a truck, no doubt about that, its so redneck its almost annoying.

Not to getto up your truck, just an Idea.

I went on a long road trip after I put a FM 50 on with duel out on my burb. The return trip I decided I needed to do something about the noise. I went to Walmart and found the big scrubing pads made out of stainless steel and pushed them in my tips and blocked them in there with a coat hange bent into a "u" shape. Results were reduced noise, and better gas milage. Once I got back they cam out. Its just a cheep idea.

Joe, that might be the mother of all engineering. Scrubbing pads in the exh tips. If I was ever broken down on the side of the road, I would be happy to see you coming. You could likely find a way to get me going again.

I have considered a hundred times about adding some type of exh to my Wife's Yukon, but I am afraid I too would be looking for the scrubbing pads after about 200 miles with our 6500 lb camper behind us.
