Need help programming new keyless remote

My truck did not come with any remotes, so I bought a brand new one. I checked with the dealership on the VIN so I ordered the correct one. It is the older style part number 16245100-29. The remote came with instructions telling me to jump the #4 and #8 pins on the obc connector, however mine does not have a #8 pin. The dealership confirmed my truck came with keyless entry originally. I tried the tecnique of holding the unlock while cycling the key, but that didnt do anything, and neither did just holding lock and unlock on the remote for 7 seconds. Anyone know how to do this?

Its fixed, for future searching reference the way to program your remote for a 99' Denali with the remote part # of 16245100-29 is

 

Turn the key on then back off to disarm alarm

 

Remove #17 radio fuse

 

Turn the key on, off, on, off, on, off.

 

The locks will cycle.

 

Hold the buttons down together for 15 seconds.

 

Put the fuse back in.

 

This is similar to the instructions posted on this site, but obviously different as you have to pull a fuse and dont hold down the lock button on the door panel. Hope this helps someone.
