This is what I removed from under my dash and everyone has described to be the DRL module:

This is the part number everyone has given me:

This is the part:

Can anyone help figure out if what I removed from my truck is the DRL module? If that is in fact the DRL module, I don't know what the dealership was looking up. I give them the correct year of my truck. Thanks for the help.

Been a while and I don't have a schematic available, but that first picture looks like a DRL diode with that big heatsink. How many wires are in the connector to it? The DRL module has like 8 wires whereas the DRL diode only has 2 wires. So if you have a 2 wire connector to that thing, it's the diode... which is a common failure.

The DRL module is taped to a main harness, not mounted on a bracket, best I can recall.

Thanks. Hope things are going well. How can I test to see if the diode is bad? It is a 2 wire plug. Can I just jumper the two wires and if the DRL's work, then the diode is bad? Thanks again for the info.

Without the schematic, I can't say anything with certainty. I have no idea if jumpering the diode connector would make them work if that's the problem. And I would assume the diode is tested just like any other diode... with a meter that has diode position on it... usually even cheapy meters have this.

Been years since I've seen one of these. Sorry I can't help you any more than that. As long as you have the module, plug it in and see if that's your problem.

I thought about plugging the module in, but if that is not it, then I'm out about $60. They said they wouldn't take it back if I opened it. I will get my meter at lunch and see if I can't figure out what the diode position is and test it. If that don't work, I may try jumpering it. They don't work anyway so I don't think I will hurt anything. I'll post back what I find. Thanks for the help.

Diode tested open in both directions. Jumpered the wire harness with a paper clip and bingo, DRL's working. Went and picked up a new diode and will install tonight. Thanks for the help.
