manufacture warrany

i cant reveal my source on this, but i was told from a reliable informant close to GM, that GM will pay GM service centers repairs for many parts and components up to 60k on GM vehicles. the service manager at the shop has some power in making repair decisions and Gm will pay the service center back. for instance, if your tranny goes out at 40k, the GM service manager can fix it and charge you a deductible price of maybe $200.00. Gm will pay the rest. the reason behind this is the fact that huyandi, and other manufactures are beginning to warrany cars 60-100k. Gm has to keep up or they'd lose customers, espcially those that had serious complications after 36,001k. if you have problems after 36k, dont settle, keep pushing them or write GM directly, they'll fix it.

Some folks in this forum have also received paperwork for

a 100,000 mile engine warranty. You've got to stand behind products and services, particularly today, otherwise people will go somewhere else.

Have a great one!

3/36 is pretty basic  I must admit. The new stuff is pretty good and they should be back up. I have had decent luck and not really had problems with my Chevys to need warrenty.  I have also heard stuff like that, dealerships can do some stuff that is not always spoken about. Anyway I think GM would do good by bumping up some of the numbers. Heck thata Hyndia or KIA  car just with  10/100K deal seems ok and is marketing the heck out of that fact alone.   I don't know about them, they  seem kinda well.. I would not want to have a crash in one over 3 or 4 mph.

That 100k mile warranty by Kia from what I hear is useless for anything but marketing.

It is drivetrain only.  Poor maintenance can void parts.  Who do you know that buys a Kia an maintains it well?  I haven't seen one yet.

I do think a bumper-to-bumper 4yr/50k mile would be worth its weight in gold in sales figures.
