1/2 & 3/4 ton frame ?

can anyone tell me the differences between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton frames on 02 4x4s and if i can swap the engine crossmember from a 3/4ton into a 1/2 ton?

You can do anything if you've got enough determination and ingenuity. As for if it's a direct bolt-in, I'm not sure.

Why do you want to use a 3/4 ton cross member? Are you planning on putting an oddball engine in your truck. GM uses different front frame sections depending on the Engine option being used. You have to be more specific in what you are planning on doing and then maybe we can offer some advice.

well i just bought a 03 2x4 chevy i want to swap in a 8.1 l

from what i can see on my 02 4x4 and the 03 2x4 there not much of a diff between the frames so i want to do a 8.1 swap in to one of them i think the 2x4 would be a fun little truck to drive
