Ok I just saw the new GM commercial with the flying cars over the golden gate bridge. Really a cool commercial. It was advertising the new 100,000 mile power train warranty I believe. Anyone else see this?

Saw it last night. I thought it was ok. I love the warranty though.

I haven't liked the GM commercials since they quit doing the "Like A Rock" ones.  But, I do like the new warrenty.

I think they did that because the guy who did the "like a rock" voice passed away.

Did anyone else notice they have the new 2007 silverado in the commercial.... nice :shakehead:

Bob Segar passed away? I didn't hear that.

The reason they quite using the "Like A Rock" slogan was GM wanted to move in a different direction on marketing,They started using the "Like A Rock" song in 1990 and continued for almost 10 years,It was getting a little old, although I liked the commercials.

They did the same thing when they dropped the "Heartbeat Of America" slogan and songs,They wanted a change,Now those we're getting old!

And Yes,I noticed the new '07 Silverado and '07 Sierra in the commercial right away!

Thanks for the Bob Seger link. I love that song, I play it in my chevy truck every chance I get. But, I just felt like GM was so far ahead of the competition as far commercials were concerned, that it wasn't even funny. Yes, I agree that sometimes things need to change for better marketing purposes, but this was working fine and should have been left alone. Just like "Are You Ready for Some Football" by Hank Williams Jr. They should never change that, it would be a mistake in my opinion. :shakehead:

I knew I wasn't crazy:

"Wednesday, November 20, 2002:

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- James Coburn, the Academy Award-winning actor whose roles included tough-guy villains, the roguish secret agent Flint and the resourceful "president's analyst," died Monday. He was 74.

He also lent his distinctive weathered voice to a handful of advertising campaigns, particularly Chevrolet trucks' "Like a Rock" series."

He passed away in 2002, which I believe is right about when GM stopped their "like a rock" campaign. I think they stopped it out of respect for Coburn.
