auto dimming mirrors

I recently got married and my groomsmen at the wedding got a hold of my truck keys and decided to decorate it, alright no biggie. except they put two condoms on the rear view mirror and had one on the driver side mirror, and now when they tint blue and dont work right. the passenger side is fine, but the rear view mirror and driverside mirror both act up. i have washed them off with water and used windex to clean the glass. any suggestions as to what i can do. they have a blueish green tint to them and tint when ever the sun is behind me. i have an 05 sierra

The passenger side mirror does not auto dim. Only the driver's side and the inside rear view mirror dim. The sensor that determines whether or not to dim the mirrors is on the backside (towards the windshield) of the inside rearview mirror.

 

Make sure this light sensor is not blocked in any way, including anything mounted to the windshield that cuts down the light that hits it.

 

The mirrors should lighten when put in reverse regardless of the outside light conditions... do they?
