Manual Transfer Case Conversion

I hate the push button 4 wheel drive, has anyone ever converted over to a Manual. The only reason I like driving my ford truck in the winter is that I can quickly switch between 2 and 4 with nice positive feeling shifts. If i have to go through another Alaskan winter with waiting seven to ten seconds every time I want to go into four wheel drive I am going to go crazy.

Now that I think about it, is the manual floor lever a actual lever or is it just like the old heated element that would always burn out that engages and disengages four wheel drive.

So far i havent heard of anyone doing this but it does sound like a good idea. I loved the push button at first but it started acting stupid not long after i bought the truck and i hate the stupid junk now. Give me a lever any day. Good luck, hope you can do it.
