2007 gmc sierra break-in

I just ordered a 07 2wd 1500 sierra with the vortec max 6 liter engine

 

I was wandering how miles would you recommend for the break-in and how should i drive it during that time? Thanks!

My 07 Tahoe says 500 miles for break in.

Follow the owners manual and all should be fine.

 

If it was mine, I would drive it just like I do with my 02 with 70k miles. Nothing special just get in and drive. I never had any problems with any of my new purchases driving them like that. Today's technology has come a long way. I would say they are race ready from the production line.

I would just vary the speed for the first couple hundred miles or so. I wouldn't tow anything close to heavy for the first 500 miles while everything gets broken in.
