XM noise

I have an 03 Suburban with the factory Bose six disc XM radio. On XM only, I am getting what sounds like an alternator electrical whine. It varies with engine speed. There is no such noise on AM, FM, or CD. I called XM and they said there was nothing causing that on there end and it must be the radio. Does anyone know the cause or cure for this. Thanks in advance.

XM is dumb... that's your problem... ha... really though, what's going on is that the alternator noise is bleeding into the antenna wire that the XM comes in on. I've never heard of this problem, and I don't know the layout of the wiring with XM, so I don't know if there is a place where a wire carring power gets around the antenna wire, that would cause your noise. As far as a fix, follow the XM wire as far as you can and be sure that there are no other wires around it.
