Check all the fluids, change tranny filter, etc.

And drive the wheels off of it.

What about the transmission fluid ?

Personally, I would also change the plugs and wires with stock. Change the shocks to your taste (I like monroe reflex), change the fuel filter and Air filter in addition to what the others mentioned. Also, I'll be the U-Joints need to be changed soon.

Actually. If its me. I'm NOT changing squat in the trans. I have a 94' Rado with the 4L60-E. My stepfather drove the truck 110k miles and maybe serviced trans once...if at all.

I called a few trans shops and asked them about what they though I should do. Everyone of them said to just drive it. What happens is that over time gunk gets built up inide your trans. When you change fluids it acts like a knife and knocks everything loose....into your transfer case.

One guy said that right after he'd serviced an older trans it went on him not 6 months later. My trans has over 200k and shifts just fine. No problems.

At least on my drivetrain, there is no way for trans fluid to get into t-case unless a gasket goes bad.

I would definitely avoid a trans flush if no service has been done in 100K+. I would probably change the filter and replace the 4 qts in the pan. That way you are freshening up the fluid (12+qts total capacity) but not running all new fluid.
