I have a 2002 Envoy SLE. Whne I get above 30 miles per hour and slow down to stop, I hear a clunkink noise at about 10 miles per hour. I brought it to my local garage and they think it might be something insde my driveshaft. Has anyone encountered this same or similar problem.

Have a similar noise on my Silverado Z-71 when slowing down for a light and the tranny downshifts from 3-2. I think there is a TSB out there for this noise that it's basically slop in the drivetrain and no fix is to be attempted.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm new to this. What is a TSB? Also, why not attempt to fix it? If left un-fixed, will it hurt to it in this condition? I was thinking about replacing the driveshaft. Would this solve the problem?

Turns out the clunking noise was a bad spline in the transmission. Since it only has 34,000 miles, GM is basically giving us a refurbished tranny. Was really impressed with the service of our GM dealer. Truly Professional Grade!
