Some moron already dinged my new truck

2007 GMC Sierra Classic extended cab. There is a small ding in the lower right corner of the drivers side door. At the point of impact it took the paint off. I am furious. What should I do now?

Get over it, 'cause it will happen 1,000 more times. Seriously though, it may look bad but I'll apply some 3M #30039 rubbing compound and most of the scratch is removed. Rarely is a door ding so bad the 3M couldn't remove 98.9% of it.

There is an actual dimple and the paint is off I don't think a rubbing compound will work but thanks for the suggestion. My 84 sierra doesn't have a ding on it btw so I was hoping the 2007 wouldn't get any, or at least until I have at least made my first payment lol

Any ding or scratch on a vechicle sucks....but especially the first one on a new vechicle. :D

I feel for you.

Some of my dings have the dimple. When the dent occurred the paint was white looking but the scratch remover took almost all of the marking away. If the paint is actually chipped and down to the primer you're right the scratch remover won't be as effective.

When I first bought my truck I lived in an apartment complex and I parked in a spot away from everyone, in an area that no one else parked in. I had to walk a little bit to get to my truck but I didn't have to worry about dings. The same thing went for wal-mart. Far away from most people BUT not in an area that could turn into a empty cart depository. When you pull into a parking lot you have to survey the area and calculate the safest parking spot, not the most convenient.

I got a MASSIVE ding right in the middle of my passenger door within a week or two of when I bought mine.

Went and paid the paintless dent repair guy to take care of it. $50 or so.

Paintless dent repair guy and some touch-up paint and wax are about all you can do. My Z71 doesn't have any dings on it (since I bought it). I'm one of the trucks you see parked way out there in the parking lot. I also "took over" a curb spot at work and am good friends with the guy that parks next to me and we have an "understanding." Best of luck gettin it fixed.

Also: A ding/scratch may bother the hell out of you (it does me!) but in all honesty 99% of people who see your truck will NEVER notice it :D

Have you noticed that even though you park on the most remote spot in the lot next to a curb some nimrod will still park right next to you .It's almost like your car has this giant magnet. :D

That's happened to me quite a few times too, never really understood why? :wtf:

Because some people just suck, and they go out of their way just to piss people off.

Well at least you'll have a pretty good idea of who is the culprit if you have a new ding when you return to your truck. Makes it easier to take sweet revenge :chevy:

Idiot gardeners did this to mine about a month after I got it. They did pay me to fix it, $1500.00, and the ding is still there... needed the money more than I hated the dent.

Still pisses me off when someone is careless about other peoples stuff.
