Grinding down the calipers

Have you heard of grinding some material off the calipers to fit 15" rims?

Calipers are pretty thick and could probably take a TINY, TINY bit of grinding, but I wouldn't go more than a few thousandths. Why, exactly, would you want to go to 15's? Most people seem to want to go to 22's or 24's!!

But to aswer your question... no, never heard of anyone doing this.

Well unfortunately thats all I have. Brand new 38's on 15's for free. I sure would like to use them. Looks funny right now with a 5" lift and stock tires. I'm just not really sure how much I can grind. I don't know if a few thousandths will do it.

Well, for safety reasons, I can't recommend any more than that. If you want to take it upon yourself to grind a considerable amount off, just know that it could compromise the strength of the caliper.

I'd be trying to see if there were aftermarket (or even some off of an older truck) that I could make work before grinding on them. That just sounds like a recipe for grenading hard parts.
