Question
Cozmo75
I have a 2002 GMC 2500HD 4wd pick-up w/ 109,000 miles on it. I noticed a leak in the transfer case about 4 days ago and got into the dealer this morning. The service manager told me that the internal pump has wore a hole through the case, and that is why it is leaking so much fluid. He then told me that this is about the 5th hole in a transfer case from this problem this year. Is thisproblem commom across the board for the transfer case pump? Or is it related to the use of the 4 wheel drive? I bugs me that he said that he has seen this 5 times this year, because I live in a city with less that 40,000 people. That seems like alot of holes in transfer cases from a pump shaft with little of the over all market share. Thanks for your reply in advanced.
