Interior room 2007 Crew Cab

I am trying to decide what truck to buy to replace my wrecked Titan (no, I'm not a troll - even if this is my first post :lurk: ).

I really liked the look of the new Chevy/GMC trucks, so I went by the Chevy dealer today to take a look at the new trucks. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay long enough to wait for a salesperson to open up a truck for me.

Anyhoo:

The first thing that struck me is that they are huge: wider (and longer) than my Titan I think. They look as good in person as they do on paper, very nice.

As far as the interior; the front seat looked really good, with lots of room, but the distance between the back seat and the front seatback looked very small. Because I'm 6'4", and part of a tall family, interior room is a big part of my buying decision, and one of the reasons I like trucks over cars.

To me, the backseat space looked pretty cramped. There must be tall owners on this board. What do you think about the interior space in the new Crew Cab? Would a person of my height fit in the back with the front seat all the way back?

Im 6ft 3 and I sat in the new crewcab rear seat a few weekends ago. I was disappointed in the room. I feel that is doesnt have much more substantial room than my 00 ext cab. I have not sat in an older (00-06) crewcab but those do look slightly larger than the new style???

6'5" here and i went and sat in one of the new GTMT-900's and drove. I found the front seat roomy legwise but the rear seat was kinda cramped but i have never fit in any backseat.

Yeah those have grown on me, I have been seeing many arrive here. A nice interior that looks a little untrucklike.

Is it just me or does the top of the windshield seem to be cut a little lower than a simiar "classic"?

Im 6'6'' and I will tell you when you go look do not even get in ones with sun roofs unless you like to scratch your head on the roof. One of the reasons I am looking for a truck is to get away from that problem in a jeep. While ridding around in a friends cummins last weekend I truly realized how nice it is to sit the seat straigt up and not be laid back into the backseat. In the jeep rear passengers always ask for me to move up.

From what I remember about the truck's back was not to terrifying. The part that stood out again to me in the back was a small drop in the roof that I was leaning my forehead on calling it a drunk's pillow. Ill have to look at a few more after my days off.

Not to start a flame war here, but...

Before I bought my 2004 Titan, I did the rounds of the various trucks available then:

- Dodge Ram: looked cool, but Crew Cab's back seat is a joke

- Ford F-150: very nice, but the roof seemed very low

- Chevy: outdated interior, oldest design of all the trucks I looked at

- Toyota: didn't like looks, not powerful enough

I chose the Titan because of its huge interior room and its engine

Now, the lineup is basically the same with two exceptions:

- Chevy/GMC: nice looking trucks, like the interior and exterior, but not enough room inside?

- Toyota (the new Tundra): No Crew Cab available at first :lurk:

For my requirements (interior room), it looks like I'll end up with a Titan again. I think it's crazy that as big as trucks are, relatively they offer so little interior space. Even in the Titan's roomy cab, they have set the seats too high for tall people. Shorties can adjust the seat up as far as they want, but anyone over 6'2 feels the seat should go just an inch or so lower.

New Chevy/GMC Crews:

Headroom (front/rear) 41.5/40.6

Legroom (front/rear) 41.3/38.7

Shoulder room (front/rear) 65.2/65.2

Hip room (front/rear) 62.5/65.5

Nissan Titan Crew

Head room (front/rear) without sunroof 41.0/40.4

Leg room (front/rear) 41.8/40.4

Hip room (front/rear) 61.3/60.5

Shoulder room (front/rear) 65.1/64.6

Looks like the Titan has about 2" more legroom in the back

The Dodge Quad Cab is much smaller in the back than others, even in its sales literature Dodge compares it to others extended cabs. The Dodge MegaCab on the other hand is a whole different animal. Its much larger than Nissan, Chevy, Ford, GMC, whatever. It's a beast. Nothing comes close to it in terms of rear seat roomieness.

The new Sierra/Silverados have slightly better room in the back seat than the previous generation due to a better front seat design. I am 6'3" tall and have no problem back there.
