'96 Sierra, possible warped brake rotors?

I have a '96 GMC Sierra 1500 that has a shudder in the front end on heavy or extended braking. I had a similar issue around 20K miles ago and a local shop replaced the calipers with rebuilt calipers, turned the rotors, and replaced the pads. Unfortunately the issue has returned.

 

When cold, the brakes work fine, but as they heat up I get a pulsation in the brake pedal and I start to get a strong shudder through the steering wheel. This has been getting progressively worse.

 

At this point, I'm thinking about replacing the front rotors and pads as well as installing new shoes in the rear. Perhaps I'll try a Stage II kit from praised dyno.

 

Does this sound like the right approach?

Yes, you are better off getting new rotors. When the old ones were turned, some metal was removed, making the rotors thinner and even more prone to warpage. New pads with new rotors goes without comment. No need for new calipers unless they are leaking or seizing. lubricate the sliding caliper pins with a special grease. Auto zone sells it in little packets for a buck or so.

I have a simular problem but even more strainger acting. I also have a 96 GMC 1500 2 wheel drive. The first indication I had a problem was the truck would take off to the right and then straingten back up as you started pushing on the brake pedal. I did read about greasing the slide pins for the calipers. I did that. No change. I read something about possable air in the lines. I blead the lines. Seemed to ease up but now is back. The pads on the front are NOT worn uneven and the back shoes are worn even and still have plenty of manerial on them. I am just shooting in the dark. I don't see any thing cracked or leaking. I have a good pedal but has always felt mushy. The history on the truck is a little old lady owned it and was driven once or twice a week and kept in a garage. I got the truck two years ago and I drive it maybe once a week. It has 35000 miles. Yes that is no type O. 35000 miles. Tell me what you think is going on.
