A/C Lights

I know there have been posts before regarding A/C bulb replacements but only for the 2003-up. Three of my bulbs seem to have burned out and I would like to replace them. Has anyone out there done this yet? I know it will not be easy, but I would really like to replace them instead of having to drop probably $100+ on a new A/C control unit. I was thinking about changing the color to blue anyway. Any hints/tips/part #s would be great.

we have a 1999 silverado and had a few burned out bulbs in the radio and in the switches for ac, indoor air etc. i bought these bulbs from radio shack , did some soldering and everything lights up again - just like christmas.
