4 high mod problem

I have the '05 and I did the diode on the main fuse block trick as described in the tech article section. Worked fine for two weeks. Now when I flash the highs with no lows on, the lows come on. When the lows are on and I flash the highs, nothing happens. When I push the lever forward to steady on, the lows go out but the highs never come on. Took out the diode, still doesn't work right. high/low fuses ok. What's going on here?

Your high-beam relay might be dead.

Check for voltage coming in and out of the relay. If you have power at the input, but not at the output, it's your relay. If you have no power at all (except the trigger, which is obviously working since your low-beams have power) then it is something else.

Checked voltage at relays. Not sure what is supposed to be what but I had voltage at at least 2 of the relay pins. Tried swapping with good relays and still not working. Does anyone know what pin #'s do what? What is strange to me is that when I flash the highs, the lows come on but no highs. They should not be connected anymore since I removed the diode. I figure the turn signal/high beam switch lever assembly could be bad but the low beam switch is on the dash. How could they tie together? Maybe a short??

Is there a separate fuse for hi vs. lo beams?

There are separate fuses but they are all good.

It wasn't anything that a new BCM and multi-function switch couldn't fix.

Didn't cost a dime. Dealer "goodwilled" it. I was almost 1000 miles past warranty. Thought for sure I would get screwed but ended up ok. I replaced the relays I had soldered and played dumb as to what the cause could be. I think he felt bad because I tried to buy the extended warranty 2 weeks before and he told me not to because of my lift. He said the lift would void all extended warranty claims.

Just reminds me why I don't want to "jury-rig" wiring in my truck....especially the diode version.

Standard equipment is just fine....
