OEM Radio Amplifier short

Recommended Posts

I found a short in the OEM radio amplifier and the dealer told me that it's $600 for the replacement unit, plus a reset needs to be done...plus labor...java script:emoticon('')

Personally, I don't want to spend $1k to fix this, so I have a couple of questions for the community.

1) Does anyone know where to get this OEM amplifier for less that $600?

2) I heard that adding an aftermarket deck will cause the steering wheel controls to not function. This makes sense given the fact that the aftermarket deck won't have wiring for those controls, but are local stereo shops able to work around that?

Thanks to all responses in advance.

Here's a link I found that sells various OEM electronics. If you don't see what you need, call them...
