Exhaust, lift, and tire clearance

I have had a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 4wd short bed extended cab 5.3L Auto tranny since may or so this year. I have stock size tires and everything on the truck is stock. I wondering how much trouble i'll get into putting a 2" lift on it from JCWhitney.

Thats the website page and it is helper springs in the back and the new torison bar keys for the front with a little bit more offset too them. I have read a few other posts with information about lifting and most people have said 2 inches is all you can go with of moving control arms and stuff. I have a 16 inch stock rim and i was wondering if the truck would look ok with factory size tires or if i should go with a 285/75/16 instead. Its a daily driver and i also have a question about the fuel consumption. So if anyone has done this what did it do to your mileage?

My other question is, whats a good exhaust? My intake is stock but i'm buying some stuff to leave the factory air box and just put a solid 4" tube between the box and the intake manifold. I want a dual exit exhaust but i don't want to be able to heard the truck coming from 5 miles away either. I like a good rumble but some what quite. So a muffler is the system or something of that sort. With my intake I was wondering if anyone has found a good intake that actually helps with mileage as well. Thanx for your time and anyone with a suggestion please send it. Sorry if this doesn't make since or theirs mispelled words.

Hey guys i realize i must of done something wrong because i am a newbie to this sight. My last truck was a 1993 K1500 and it was a ext cab shortbed. I was a nice truck i sold it to get this 2002 GMC 1500 ext cab shortbed. But i want my other truck back too bad the guy tipped it on its side before i could buy it back. It was a dark metallic green, Nice looking truck it also have the 94-98 grille conversion kit on it. But ne ways sorry for whatever i did, i'm just looking for some help from some people i know i can get a long with. I a John Deere technician and i tinker with my truck after work. But if anyone could reply or give me some suggestions that would be great. Anything from anyone would help out a lot. thanks

You can probably get 2" out of your factory torsion bar keys. If you can't buy Ford torsion bar keys (40$ +/-). Last time I checked seems like add-a-leafs were in the 80$ range, or you could put bigger blocks in the rear. Your intake mod seems OK, and as for the exhaust, how about leaving the muffler and running putting a y-pipe after the muffler to two exit locations of your choice. Gas mileage going to a 285 will suffer some 1-3 mpg is my estimate.

Hey thnx for the info it'll help for the 120 bucks i might just order the one from JCwhitney and get a couple other things and save on shipping in all. I like the idea on just splitting the exhaust after the muffler.
