2002 Sierra stalled & will not start

I just started my 02 Sierra this morn to let it warm up. Truck idled for about 15 minutes and I got in to drive to work and noticed the battery light was on in the message center, and volt guage read about 11 volts & truck was running rough. Then truck suddenly died. I tried to restart and it cranks over fine but will not fire at all. The truck is ECSB with 5.3 L

 

Any comments / advise appreciated

Sounds like alternator is bad, not charging battery. Truck uses juice in battery to run electronic ignition, etc., hence the engine dying.

Thanks for reply, Have checked battery voltage and appears good with 12.6 Volts.

I just had a charger on it for an hour and still no change. Engine seems to be cranking just as fast as ever. I also just scanned computer for codes but there were none set. Any other advise would be helpfull.
