2500HD smashed @ Dealer

That's my luck! just so you know this is just par for me. I ordered a new 02' 2500HD with 8.1/Al, LT and every option even the block heater on January 8th and it was built last week meaning I got the rebate! that was the whole concern since I placed the order was getting the 2002 rebate. with the help of Pontiac it was shipped very fast. now to the meat and potatoes, it arrived @ the Dealer yesterday @ 2:30 but would have been there monday but the New York State Thurway was shut down because of snow. I was called and they said I could pick it up at 5:30. I was just leaving the house @ 5:15 and got the big phone call. well we had some snow yesterday and when the lot boy was bringing it up front from the detail shop he said cool this truck has the 8.1 let's see how well it fish tails! well better than he thought because POW he it a yellow parking lot pole and wreck the pass. door, third door, the cab edge and the front of the box. after many go arounds I said order me a new truck and they said no. I said I want my money back! we came to a agreement that a new truck would be ordered and the $ would be the same and they are going to eat the diff. because of the rebate diff. that at first they said I would have to. I'll keep everyone posted if you want to see what kind of dealer I have and to see if GM wants to keep me a customer!

GOOD!!! I hope they fired the little bastard too! It was no fault of yours that the truck was damaged! Why should you not have a new truck which is what you are paying for.

Thanks for the support guy's!! that's what I told the dealer, I want a new truck. I gave him this little scenario this is a new truck and is the second largest investment you make in your life (my 8th new one and I'm only 31) but anyway, so if you were buying a house paided for it in FULL and on the final walk through and the basement was flooded would you buy it? he said NO! I said so your asking what I want to do why. I'm waiting for phone call on what events are to take place from GM on getting me a new truck ASAP and I'll keep you posted.

Damn that sucks. That kid better hope you never see him. Hopefully GM will come through and move your new truck up and get it built quick.

Glad you stood your ground and didn't except just receiving that one repaired. You paid for a new truck, a new truck you should receive. Since you hadn't taken possesion of it yet I don't think they could have made you take it in that condition.

That's awful man.. I know you were waiting and must have been pretty anxious to get your new ride.

You deserve a new truck for the agreed upon price. The dealer will have to eat the rebate and the cost of repairing the damaged one.

The worst thing is that some poor soul will probably end up paying big $$$ for that damaged truck after it has been repaired.

here's today's update! first, no I didn't kill him or even get to talk to the lot boy about his joy ride in what was to be my new baby! anyway the order was put in yesterday by my dealers GM area rep. (which came to the dealer)to his boss which was personaly putting the order into the factory. what that means I have no idea but they said it should go very quickly. they are to call me back with the actual build date which I demanded to know so I can have someone track it from there.

it's funny you asked, they redid the paper work giving me more for my trade so the price comes out the same. well when they first did it and it came out 10 cents more and I made them redo it all over again I was so pissed off because it was 10 cents more!
