OC is most likely 0 degrees Celcius.

It is 32F in your area ?

no it is not cel. it stays that all the time...you can switch back from cent. to far. and makes no differnce...was told to cal. conpass, but did not cure either...

OC means open crkt, SC means shorted crkt, Knowing this and you swaped sensor, and the mirror I would look @ the wires to sensor back torward the mirror. It's possiable the wires are chafed and coroded, or cut through. Ihope this helps you out. :seeya: wct

If I'm not mistaken there are two sensors behind the grill. The one you want is behind the hood latch area. My 2000 Jimmy had the same thing and I changed the wrong sensor the first time.

the one I switched was right below the hood latch prerry much center of grill, swaped the one from my 04 avalanche...who's mirror works fine...just bought this tahoe and was not working when I got it...so I have no history..they did have a aftermarket nav systen installed but removed before I purchased..not sure if there is any connection there or not...thanks for the help..Rob

there is only one sensor located on the radiator support under latch, turn off the ignition, disconect the sensor, then use a 3 amp fused jumper wire (use some thing like a terminal the same size or you spead the termials) conect terminal A of the sensor harness it should be a dark green/white wire to ground, then turn the ignition on and see what is desplayed on the mirror dose the temp display show SC? if not then you have wiring issue. on the dark green/white wire. check the wires were they pass through the radiator support near sharp edges of meatle, we don't know if this sub has ever had front end damage? :seeya:

ok did that..still reads oc ??? wiring looks fine as far as you can see...which is not far..just past rad. goes into large harness, then to firewall, and other conectors inside ? thanks Rob

well it definitely sounds like a wiring issue on crkt 636 dark green wire, do you have a multi-meter? you may want to check connector c104 it is located near the fuse box beware there is a lot of connectors there. all I know is it is a 16 pin connector. pins 1,2, & 10 are not used 3 is dark blue 4 dark green 5 gray 6 is dark green/white*this is the wire you are concerned with 7 black/white 8 black 9 lt. green 11 dark green/white 12 lt. green/ black, 13 is yellow 14 is yellow/black 15 is brown/white 16 is pink. you may have to pull the big cover off the fuse block to access connector. Look for a connector that match wire colors to pin# then if the connector & wires look OK (no mouse nests) or some thing stupid like that then measure continuity of the wire to the sensor. if that is less than .5 ohm then check from the mirror to the connector that should also be less than a.5 ohm if both ways of the wire are OK then recommend taking to your local dealer. Well I hope this helps you out, and have fun -wct :smash:
