Sonoma - Tires

Can someone please help me find tires for my 02 Sonoma? I need to get new ones, and I want some better ones. It's a daily driver, so I was thinking all seasons but I also want something that isn't going to be hogging gas, and maybe a little bigger. I've never had to buy truck tires before so I'm not sure what to look for. Thanks.

What kinda of Sonoma do you have? 2wd or 4wd?

 

I run Toyo's on mine, I can't remember the specific numbers but they're "Z" rated, so no mileage warranty. I've been known to um...zip around here and there.

It's a 4WD. The local tire shop recommend I go with Bridgestone Dueler A/T. Whatcha think?

I've heard the Dueler Revo's are good (better than the regular Duelers), but personally I don't like the tread pattern on them. They look like a highway/all-season tire, not an all-terrain tire. I put BFG All-Terrain TA KO's on my fiancee`'s '99 Jimmy, and they do great in all weather and terrain. I have recently had General Grabber AT2's on my '95 truck (identical tread pattern/construction as the BFG's) and they perform just as well as the BFG's at about 2/3 the price. Because of the soft compounds used in both the BFGs and the Generals, we lost about a half to a full mpg, but that dropped the Jimmy from 22 to 21 and my truck from 15 to about 14.5. I'm not complaining about that, since by airing up the tires to around 40-45 psi on the Jimmy and 60-65 on the truck brings the mileage back.

i havnt figured out the mileage on my 94 sonoma, but im sure it isnt the best with 30x9.50's. they dont sound like the tire you want but look darn good. i put the cooper discoverer stt's on it. they're about as aggressive as you can get

Go look at www.tirerack.com for the size you want and read the reviews. They have literally millions of miles driven by their customers who write in and review their purchases... good info there!
