20" Wheels Roadwalk Like Crazy

I have an '05 GMC Denali pickup that road walks with the new 20" wheels and tires I put on it. The 20" wheels are made by Sovereign and the tires are Yokohama 285/50-20s. This winter, I put my OEM 6-spoke 265/70-17's back on with new studs and the steering is back to perfect.

I know GM puts 20" wheels out on stock trucks so what's wrong with mine? I contacted the dealer (Tire Rack) where I bought the wheels and they were no help. The wheels were purchased for this truck from the dealer's recommendation.

Can the small amount of tire width increase, potential wheel offset, or something else change front end alignment enought to cause the poor driveability? I posted this in another forum and had no luck.

Any ideas?

I have 275/55r20 Michelins on both my rigs and theydrive normal, I can't imagine one size bigger tire making much of a difference but what would mess things up is a wheel with the wrong offset.

Did ya try rotating the wheels to see if there's any change?

Maybe ya got a bad wheel? Or maybe they just weren't seated properly? Niether of those two are likely, but still possible.

Possibly a bad tire rather than a wheel. Jack up the truck and spin each wheel by hand and check if they have excessive lateral or radial runout.
