Opinion Needed

Hey I need your opinion about a 06 Silverado CC, 5.3, 4x4 that has 25,000 miles. Would this many miles in one year scare you away from this truck? Another 10,000 miles it will be out of warranty. I am just worried that this would be a former rental. I am going to call the dealer who is in my home town and ask him point blank.

Thanks

25,000 in one year is not high mileage to me. I put over 40k on my '99 GMC in it's first year, and 7 years later I'm pushing 245k. It could be a rental, or just a lot of highway miles.

my only concern would be that it's a prior rental. I bought a prior rental and it was a lemon. nothing but problems. People say ohh, but the keep up on the maint and have all the service records. Then I remember how I used to drive a rental. Most people don't take to easy on them. just my 2cents

I'd ask for a carfax report, or take the VIN and pay to get one. That'll tell you if it was a rental or not. However, if it was just a private owner, then it's probably just alot of miles. I bought a used Grand Prix and I'd put 30,000 miles on it in the first year. My parents' 1990 suburban they put almost 40k miles on it in the first year they owned it...so 25,000 is low for my family.

25,000 miles is nothing.... I bought my 2000 Silverado 1500LS used and it had 70,000 on it! At first you'd think... but that is not the case. I learned that the 1500LS was previously owned by a construction superintendent here in Virginia. All he did was travel around the state to various construction sites, checking on things. So nonetheless, the 2000 Chevy is still in mint condition - it just has high mileage.

Now at 112,000 miles, it is still going strong without any troubles or worries at all. Heck, I got an old hunting buddy of mine, who has an '87 Chevy Silverado and the truck has over 250,000 miles on it! Granted it's a little scratched here and there, the paint is a a little faded, but mechanically, the truck just won't die. He has joked to me that I have to beat his mileage record with my truck! :D

If the price is right I might consider it but the mileage is kinda high for me since my truck is 7 years old and only has 108,000 miles. Hell that truck has hit 1/4 of that in just one year! Plus I doubt they will discount the price enough to make a difference. I might just pass on this one.

Thanks!
