Stereo Wiring

Hey everybody...I just bought a Pioneer DEH-1800 from car domain and a harness to fit on my factory harness. I was looking around Circuit City and saw this little product http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Metra-Radio...roductDetail.do. If I understand correctly, this plugs into the back of my new radio and then goes right to my factory harness...I dont think this can work because this wouldnt work for alot of vehicles because they all have different wiring harnesses. Can anyone help me and explain this? Thanks in advance!

Not exactly, you need another harness that plugs into your factory wiring and THAT harness. The plug that joins these two harnesses is always the same no matter what head unit or vehicle the harness is for. You buy one harness for your vehicle (GM) and another for your head unit (Pioneer). Join the two together and you have a GM to Pioneer harness!

The harness you bought will have a GM plug with wires sticking out from the other end. Use solder & heatshrink or crimp connectors to join the wires to the harness that came with your Pioneer head unit.
