Alarm Problems

I have a 2000 GMC SLT Seirra 4x4 pickup truck with the damm alarm system. I am constantly triggering the stupid panic button on the key fob by accident when I am reaching into my pocket. That is a frustrating enough situation already, however, the last (2) nights the truck is spontaneously triggering the alarm system throughout the night. The alarm turns off when I press the panic button on the key fob, but the alarm eventually triggers again, even though the keys are sitting on the table and I know I didn't accidently push the panic button of the key fob. The truck is in my garage when this is happening and it has been extremely cold here in Michigan lately. The temperature was hovering at or below (0) degrees F for the last (3) day and nights. Is this issue related to the extreme cold? Is there anyway to disable the alarm entirely without affecting other functions of the vehicle? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i've heard that the extreme cold is affecting vehicles is a strange way. in the meantime. don't lock your door with the key fob or the power door lock switch , bingo no alarm.

A strip of scotch tape on the inside of the keyfob over the panic portion will rid you of the accidental panic alarm activation at least, as for disabling it totally, I dunno.

Thanks for the feedback, unfortunately, I never lock my truck for any reason so it must be another problem. CYA.
