Next Upgrade

Hey all

I have a 2003 GMC Sierra Reg Cab 2wd with the 4.8L V8. I purchased a flowmaster Exhaust kit for it. just a system with duel side exits and a big block II 70 Series muffler, and a pair of Edelbrock Shorty headers. I was wondering what I should do next. I wanted to get a programmer, cold air intake, rims/ tires, and a roll pan bumper. But I guess I am deciding between the programmer and the cold air. As for the cold air I've been doing lots of reading; but I can't decide which one I should get. I like the FRAM one they got. But I have heard the K&N one is no good sometimes and then I've heard that here is no point installing one.

I also find the prices for the cold air intakes pretty expensive; but I guess thats the case with most things. As for the programmer I was looking at a HyperTech model. It wasn't too expensive and it seemed to be simple and effective. I am leaning towards the programmer.

Thanks all. Also if you have any suggestions for rims and tires that would be great. I like wide tires and some sort of sport/ racing rims; but again I can't find anything I like

Scratch the programmer. Get a custom tune.

As for a CAI, I love my Outlaw. It beats the sh*t out of the K&N I had before it. Nice and quiet tone inside the cab, too. Paid $200 + shipping for mine from http://www.inmotionperf.com. Excellent customer service.

I like the stock SS truck 20" rims. If I was going for a sport look, that's what I'd buy.

I agree with Halen on the tune. Ask anyone and they will tell you that a custom tune will give you better gains at a better price. As for what to do next, if your planing on doing both, i would get the intake next because if u get a tune (which you should), you would have to get it retuned after the intake is added. Getting a tune customized for your exhaust and intake after they are both installed is the way to go.

Word. For the $, you can't beat Wait4me, its like day and night...well, maybe dusk and day Plus you keep your stock PCM, so whenever more mods come along you can get it retuned and have something to drive.
