Cooler lines - Idler arm interference

Recommended Posts

I was greasing chassis on my 03 Yukon last night and noticed some wear on one of the Tranny cooler lines directly below the AC tensioner. It would appear the Idler arm / zerk fitting is rubbing against it when turning wheel all the way to the left. It appears the lines are secured to all clips. Seems to me this could present a fire hazard should the line rupture. I searched Alldata & NHTSA website but found no mention of this. Has anyone else come across this and what is the best approach to fix it ?

Zip Ties. Zip tie them, pull them a little to the drivers side of the truck. It works perfect!

I had exactly the same deal on my 01 Silverado and noticed while greasing. I used zip ties as well, and slid the factory clip that holds both lines to a different spot. This has worked well for the past five years. But you're right....the zerk was actually tugging the lines around when I made a turn.
