Just a random audio question...

So I have a Kicker 10" Comp CVX in a truck box in a Regular Cab 2000 GMC Sierra....it sounds pretty good and loud but when I open a door, it gets louder....and when 2 doors are open(or even windows), it gets noticeably louder. Why is this happening? So that was my random question, but also..do you guys think I should get some of that cusion stuff to stuff in my sub boxs port to make it sound better? Thanks!!

I think you should just take your doors off

Some systems (especially in regular cabs) just sound better with more room to breathe.

I'm sure there's a technical explanation for it having to do with the way air moves...But I don't know it.

not enough air space.

its comp vx, or CVX

i dunno about louder, but that will definetly help your sub out.

Having your doors and windows shut keeps all the air inside the cab. So it basically chokes your sub my not letting it move as much. When you open the windows the air has room to move and the sub will get its full excursion from your sub. I notice this in my truck too.

Exactly.

Also it will be louder on colder days as well, sense the air is denser. But it will take longer for your amp to warm up.
