You have got to be kidding me I wouldnt waste my money on something like that, I dont think nobody here lets there tailgate slam down like that in the video and seems to me if your too lazy not to let your tailgate slam down then your to lazy too load what you need to have with the gate down or just dont care about the truck. Whats next a set of them for the doors so you dont have to pull to open them. Iam not directing this comment to anybody just the idea of it.

My wife is 5.3 and very petite. It's sometimes hard for her to let the tailgate down easy, especially if she's holding something or she's beat from loading the back of the truck. She bought it for the truck.

I assume you don't have any kids. The first time my 5 year old opened the tailgate by himself, and Dropped it, I thought it was going to kill him. I went and got one of these as soon as I could. It works great, and I recommend it to anyone.

I think that is a neat idea, there are many times that I have my hands full and it is difficult to let the tailgate down without it slamming. To me it would need to come down a little faster then that though.

GM must have thought that it was a good idea as well, on the new trucks they have the new Spring loaded tailgate to reduce effort.
