Nav System Purchase and Install for Envoy ?????

I'm an old and gray retired Gruman employee and i just purchased a 2006 Envoy SLT, so I don't have many years to enjoy my traveling around. I would like to put a Nav System in so I can visit the grandchildren who are spread out throughout the US.

 

I need your help. What do I exactly need to complete this install. I have looked at Pioneers AVIC-D1. Is the truck pre-wired any help would be extremely appreciated.

If you are willing to put in a used factory nav unit, then you can get one for around $300 (or less) on ebay. With that, you'll need a GM GPS antenna (under fifty bucks) and a GM Nav CD (between $20 and $200, depending on what version you get), and your whole job will be under one hour.

Have you considered buying a portable Navi system?

 

This will allow you to take it to your next car or wherever you are driving.

Thanks roden, my son's 55 SLK has the DVD system separate from the command unit (display) - what I am gathering from readings on this forum is that the Nav Unit for my truck is all in one - monitor and dvd system. I just wanted to confirm this. I'm looking a a unit on Crutchfield.com. I'm not one for buying electronics of of ebay.
