Dexron VI

At my next oil change i am planning on pulling the trans drain plug(yes i already installed a new one ) and adding a few qts of dexron VI.

 

Any real world experiences out there of using dexron VI in a tranny spec'd for dexron III?

No experiences here yet. I just did my truck but I still had the old stock of AMSOIL ATF Dexron III that I used.

 

I have a few customers that are getting ready for an ATF change in their older vehicles and will be installing the AMSOIL ATF that spec's out Dexron VI.

 

Hopefully it will not be an issue since it will not be to long that you will not be able to get Dexron III. I guess we will see.

 

Pennzoil's ATF is a good brand that you can find locally. Their Dexron VI hasn't made it to the store's here. It was recommended to me by the lab that does my oil analysis.

does anybody know who sells dexron vi? the guys at advance auto told me they have never heard of it. i think read somewheres that pep boys has it.

Anyone know what year the switch was made? I have a 2006 and I think mine already has Dexron VI.

Kragen's in San Francisco Bay Area has Valvoline Dexron VI, but its a full synthetic. Aren't the GM ones dino?

anyone know of anywhere else we can get this? we dont have pep boys or Kragen's around here. bought my truck 7 months ago and it is about a quart low.
