Aftermarket Catalitic Converters

Hey ppl!

I have a 99 Sierra 2wd with 5.3l and 90k mi. Can I use aftermarket cats in California? If so will I pass smog and have no engine codes? Thanks for the info

Pro: it makes you mod list longer

Con: No power gain

Con: Can spend money else were for easier and more beneficial mods

 

Well, since your truck is older, your cats will have more soot and crap built up, so you might see some better results. There are smog legal california legal cats out there, Im not sure of the benefits tho, but it wont be much unless your current cats are clogged.
