I saw the movie 300 last night, it was Fckin sweet!! Im getting it on DVD as soon as it comes out. Has anyone else seen it yet? If not I recomend you do, but dont take your wives or girl friends, mine didnt like the movie. Its a man movie for sure.

Hehehe....yup - it's a guy movie! I've seen it twice and I really enjoyed it......some hollywood effects aside, its nice to see that they can actually

make a movie that sticks to the facts pretty well.

Being of Greek origin, it's definitely a slice of national pride!

That's funny both my girlfriend and I loved it. She said all of the violence and blood was ok because it looked "artsy" and not "realistic." By realistic she means movies like "saw."

This is DEFINATELY a movie to see in theatres, I don't think it would be the same on a TV.

Completely agreed. Even tho I have 5.1 surround sound in my room, a 27" TV isnt going to cut it! Im thinking about taking my buddy and seeing it again tonight. The ball and chain doesnt wanna see it again, I already offered.

ya ive seen it twice too and the second time i took one of my friends that was a girl and she got bored half way through cause of all of the killing. I thought it was a good movie. its still running a close race with troy though. thats a good movie too.

I have it on DVD already. I get them from a guy at work and who kows where he gets them from. They are right from the studio. Basically it is the DVD that gets sent out to critics and screeners. I have seen it a few times alreadt but not in the theatre yet. I bet it would be even better in IMAX. Great movie but make sure you look up the real story. They had a little more than 300 men fighting but still a great feat.

Finally saw it and it was great! The blood splatters were kinda cartoonish though....

Actually, if you guys want to see something closer to the real story, rent (or copy) The 300 Spartans)....this movie goes back to around 1961. Doesn't have the fight choreography of the new one, but stays true to the story as it's been documented. In reality, a little over 7,000 Greeks fought off around 250,000 Persian troops, according to historians. That's pretty darn impressive. They managed to buy enough time for the Athenians to assemble their Navy, which crushed the Persians about a year later in Salamina.

The fight scenes' blood spatter and special effects reminded me of CSI, and when they show someone getting shot or stabbed ect.

7,000 men fighting off 250,000 is very impressive, especially for a year. It sounds like a great event to research.
