Automatic Transmission Questions

What are the different transmissions available for each truck? Is there a difference in the 1500 tranny and the 1500HD tranny? Thanks in advance as always.

1500's get the 4L60E

 

6 liters get the 4L80E in a 2500 or 3500. Not sure about the 1500HD.

 

8.1 and 6.6 get the Allison. I think for a while you could get the 8.1/4L80E too?

Looking at an older post that showed a build sheet and option list, the 1500HD has a "MT1 - HD 4-SPD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION". Not sure if this equates to a 4L80E or 4L60E. I would assume the 80. ??

MT1 is the code for the 4L80E.

Great info, thanks. Glad to hear the 1500HD has the same tranny as the 2500HD.
