it seems to go without saying, but a lot of you know that I'm a car guy, but some things slip past me sometimes. :chevy:

ALWAYS remember to check yourself after working on a car, and wash up. I was on my back with a long sleeve shirt on Thursday morning, just checking some things and detialing the underbody of the camaro.. I had some ATF on the floor earlier in the week and I guess a little was left, and soaked in the shirt on my elbows which were on the concrete for about 30 minutes. It was enough I didn't notice, and I had to run somewhere and really wasn't dirty so I just changed shirt and took off. :D well, now I have a horrid, nasty rash on my just elbows which is a bit odd looking. and engagement pictures tomorrow........whoops :D

That happens wonder why the rash though.

I know my thoughtless thing that I did was when I was changing my fuel filter somehow som fuel dropping into my eye as I was below the vehicle. I felt the pain and felt dumb too! You think that I would learn too whenever under a vehicle, it never fails for something to drop into your eye!

The rash was probably a reaction to the chemicals in the ATF.

I've had rashes before after getting motor oil all over my hands and arms... You know it can't be good for the skin.

Yeah I founfd the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and moderate skin rash is a side effect to exposeure[if not removed quickly I assume). It's happened before when I did a cooling system flush from heck on the truck and had it(coolant) on me for hours, but that one wasn't this bad

That's weird...I've been covered in every kind of liquid that goes into a vehicle for periods MUCH longer than that...And I've never had a reaction like you describe.

It's not gone but it's going away and MUCH more tolerable. For future reference, cortonzine cream dosen't help too much. some, but it may have been a coincidence but the day after I put Ultra Healing hand lotion on it

Same here...none of that stuff has ever bothered me in the least, and sometimes it will stay on me for hours, if not the majority of the day.

Bah...Kids these days. Allergic to EVERYTHING. :banghead:

They probably don't know the wonderful feeling of the uber-dry skin that results from spending 2 hours elbow-deep in parts solvent without rubber gloves. :banghead:

I personally like it when your skin starts falling off because its so dry. I'm not talking about flaking off, but really falling off. It gives you that tingling feeling...kinda like pain, kinda like pleasure...

Don't make me turn the hose on yall! :banghead:

Jeremy, you keep that hose to yourself...I've got a tool that you drop one hose in the solvent bin, and plug the other into the air compressor.

You'll lose the battle of the hoses. :banghead:
