Drop Shakles?

Ok so a friend of mine wants to raise the back end of his 99 silverado to make it level with the front. Im confused casue it seems like alot of people are lowering these trucks and are talking about a drop shakle and this and that. So can i get a 2" drop shakle to raise the rear end and make it level?

Its a 2wd 99' and he seems to think the rear is 'worn' out and sagging. We both work on cars for a living so he knows what he is talking about. i juse need to know what to buy.

if its worn out and sagging, than its probably the springs. a 2" lift is only a temporary fix for a worse, and unsafe condition.

 

get some good springs insteed of the lift, or some helper springs or bags.

Springs hold the truck up. If it's sagging it needs springs.

If it's worn out and you both (he) know what your talking abou then you should know to repace the worn parts in the rear of the truck.. DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

If you have a basic understanding of the English language, you should be able to see the flaw in the above statement.

 

In case you don't (which the OP obviously doesn't) here are the definitions:

 

Drop-let fall to the ground

Raise-raise the level or amount of something

 

This has to be a joke post. Nobody is that clueless. My high school spanish teacher from columbia know the difference between drop and raise. I mean come on.

Almost all lift kits will drop the front differential. Sounds wrong...But you can see how it works. And by just looking at "drop" shackles, they look like the'll lift the truck because they're longer than the stockers.

 

So I can see the confusion.

 

However, people that work on cars for a living should know these things. Even if they posted the question almost 6 months ago
