Connector Identification

If you look in through the grille, just to the right of the transmission cooler I have a GM wire connector (grey and green plug) mounted on a small frame in front of the rad which is plugged into a grey female plug with GM on the front of it. It appears to just terminate into this grey receptacle? Any idea what this is or what it is for ??? I don't have fogs so was thinking maybe it was for fog lights but its only on that side, unless the factory harness for fogs plugs in and then splits to both sides from there?

 

I'm sure somebody knows what it is for,

Its the sensor for the mirror thermometer.
